MY
STORY
I have been a professional musician since I was 15.
I've been self-employed in various music business jobs that entire time.
Now I professionally perform (and teach) a bunch of Music & Multimedia skills.
I am the Music Biz Coordinator at the Minnesota School Of
Business, Richfield.
Sugarfoot Music
I have started a new business,
Sugarfoot Music LLC. Links below. The basic deal: We are
trying to make the world a better place with music.
Ten percent of profits go to the artist's favorite charity.

Sugarfoot gives me a chance to
play, record, write, engineer, produce, master and sing music... take photos..
do some webmastering.. all that fun creative stuff. My new
Sugarfoot recording projects include a rock 'n roll CD called "Jangletown"..
and one for kids. My Sugarfoot comrade in arms is Michelle
Kinney Jelloslave .
Music Creds
My current
rock 'n roll band, Sandy
and the Hitmen, has played around 4,000 gigs, starting when Jimmy Carter
was President. I also play music for kids, in a duo called AlphaBits,
with my wife. We have played nearly 1,000 shows in ten years. the AlphaBits Band
is the world's greatest part time job.
I co-owned a recording studio -Tracks
On Fifth- years ago (with Michael
McKern) and engineered all three of the Minnesota
Music Award winning records one year (vinyl!) In the studio, I've worked with The Amazing Rhythm
Aces, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis (Sue Ann Carwell),
Vixen, Rio Nido, Peter Lang, members
of Prince's first band - the Revolution, Dixieland
legend Red Wolfe, the Flamin Ohs, Pete Himmelman,
the Misanthropes, NNB, Raggs, Cool
Brothers, Moonshine and hundreds more.
Live sound credits include: Muddy
Waters, Patty Smith, Elvis Costello & the Attractions
(at the Longhorn!). Ask me about the Muddy Waters
concert I promoted.
I've recorded, written and composed music
for albums, commercials, video & film soundtracks, multimedia,
web sites.. etc. My most recent soundtrack work is MSB DV commercial soundtrack
"slide guitar".
Minnesota School of Business
I helped students plan, design & build a website - msbMusicBiz.com.
There are some very cool projects on the site, including
podcasts & music videos. It is a GAS to teach ProTools and
old school engineering to good students.
I have two of my earlier
MSB movies posted
here. The APOne
Slide Show is
a medley of Audio Production One student final projects,
combined with classroom photos. The second is M.S.B. by Trevor.
Besides teaching Audio at MSB,
I teach web design, some video & computer graphics. I
do web/graphic design on the side. I made some films when
I attended the U of M (B. A. in Audio & Visual
Arts). I work as a professional photographer on occasion,
and I am a licensed minister.
I'll have more samples of my work here,
if I ever get a few spare hours/days. You can hire me to
do any of the above. Just ask...
